Brainport Industries Campus (BIC), Eindhoven

Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) is a campus development of almost 200 hectares in northwest Eindhoven. It is an international campus location consisting of spatial clusters for high-tech companies in the supply and manufacturing industry.

On behalf of BIC, SDK Real Estate is responsible for the integrated area development. SDK Vastgoed developed a flexible housing concept with KMWE, one of the first to be established on campus, which serves as the basis for the design of the first cluster. The flexible concept consists of units of 20x20m.

Commissioned by BIC / SDK, VAN AKEN Concepts, Architecture, Engineering is responsible for the accommodation of the various tenants. For example, the clean room for KMWE was recently completed, which VAN AKEN realized with the PP4C alliance *. KMWE supplies mechatronic products that are assembled in clean rooms. Many companies that settle on the Brainport Industrial Campus need cleanrooms and controlled environments. The experience with dust-free and vibration-free spaces that VAN AKEN has built up over the past 35 years at ASML makes her a reliable partner for these companies.

VAN AKEN provides tenants with support in the structural and technical design (logistics), the permit process and fire and escape safety. So far, this has been done for KMWE, Anteryon, Summa College, Siemens, Smart Photonics, Yaskawa and Fujitsu, among others. In addition, VAN AKEN has designed the business center, the central atrium with eat & meet space, the inner gardens and service squares.

* PP4C consists of Brecon, Kuijpers, WERO, CMI, Deerns and VAN AKEN.
